What happens if i purposely disconnect my API keys in the middle of a trade?

Updated over a week ago

Connecting Your API Keys to Cryptobots.io

Connecting your exchange API keys to cryptobots.io is free for the initial setup and whenever your API keys naturally expire. However, intentionally disconnecting your API keys for any reason will incur a $300 reconnection fee upon returning.

Why Is There a Reconnection Fee?

The $300 reconnection fee is designed to discourage frequent disconnection and reconnection of API keys. Some unethical users exploit this tactic to take over trades initiated by the system, keeping all profits for themselves while creating unnecessary workload for our staff, which we strongly discourage. Additionally, such actions can disrupt the bot’s trading strategy, potentially leading to losses.

What Are My Options if I Need to Disconnect My API Keys?

If you need to pause trading, we recommend requesting a temporary bot pause instead of disconnecting your API keys. This action does not count as a disconnection and avoids the reconnection fee.

If you choose to disconnect your API keys and later wish to return, you’ll face the $300 reconnection fee. Alternatively, you can create a new account to bypass the fee, but this will result in the loss of all your trading data and referral benefits.

We understand that disconnecting API keys may sometimes be necessary. However, unless you intend to permanently cancel the service, please consider the potential consequences, as the $300 reconnection fee will apply if you decide to return after disconnection.

How will the re-connection fee be charged?

The reconnection fee will be included as an additional item on your profit share invoice at the end of the billing period. The $300 fee will be converted to the invoice's currency at the USD market rate on the invoice creation date.
